The announcement of Secret Radio and other books, as well as the opening of BASSENCO's Bookstore was greeted with the following somewhat half-hearted attack by Pastor Walter Jones, graduate of Hyles-Anderson College and defender of Hylesology. Wally posts as Clarksville, and recently I have discovered certain similarities between Wally and a troll named BroRoger who claims both masculine and feminine distinctions. Wally didn’t like it when I posted my observations linking him to the famous BroRoger, but he hasn't denied being BroRoger.

Anyway, in days of Yore before I openly documented the abusive and aberrant behavior of these guys, I think the resistance to BASSENCO's Bookstore would have been a lot louder. But ever since I made it clear that I will make their cyber-abuses as public as I possibly can, the Big Three of pro-Hyles troll-makers (Marty Braemer, Guy Beaumont (BAPTIST), and Walter Jones (Clarksville)) have not been as aggressive as previously.

So the cavalcade of objections to the bookstore and the release of three books aimed right at IFBx-survivors has not been as fiery as veterans of my blog might expect. But some sense of having to stick to their guns has evoked the following, at least from Wally Jones and Guy Beaumont.

It's ironic and amusing that Wally Jones accuses me of threats, innuendo, and rambling, and yet his entire post is an effort at intimidation based on innuendo and rambling. These guys have trolled for months in an attmept to intimidate others by innuendo and---ultimately---threatening language.

My guess is that the following ramble was the best he could do to try to discredit me without having read any of the books that I am marketing. And bear in mind that on the FFF, I post as BASSENCO:

I must ask after not seeing anything on here since Saturday,
HAS BASSENCO FLIPPED HER LID?

HAS SHE FINALLY BEEN BEAMED UP TO THE MOTHER SHIP?

HAS SHE SLIPPED THE REST OF THE WAY OVER TO THE DARK SIDE?

HAS SHE GONE WAY OVER THE EDGE, NEVER TO RETURN?

Seriously, it's as if she cannot answer anything except by use of threats, inuendos, and ramblings.

HAS BASSENCO FLIPPED HER LID?
She doesn't have one.

HAS SHE FINALLY BEEN BEAMED UP TO THE MOTHER SHIP?
That would be DOWN

HAS SHE SLIPPED THE REST OF THE WAY OVER TO THE DARK SIDE?
YES

HAS SHE GONE WAY OVER THE EDGE, NEVER TO RETURN?
MAYBE

Seriously, it's as if she cannot answer anything except by use of threats, inuendos, and ramblings.
That's the way she's always been. Especially the ramblings part.

Has Anybody Read Tale of Three Kings?
It's been at least 15 years since I read this book. A graduate of Hyles-Anderson college lent me her copy. I found it helpful, often illuminating, but I hadn't been force-fed the IFBx views on complete loyalty to my preacher for four years. It was clear to me that what was simply a beneficial read for me was life-changing for a person who had been through some heavy church abuse. One or two other Hyles-Anderson graduates strongly recommended the book as absolutely pivotal for them in their journey back to genuine Christianity from Whacko Hylesology. If you've read this book, please send me your review of it.

I plan to add the book to BASSENCO's Bookstore when I do the monthly update for October 1. And by the way, BASSENCO's Bookstore has a newsletter. If you want to keep up with the monthly updates, why not sign up for the newsletter? It comes once a month, and it is not shared out. Just fill in the box:

Two reviews!
Cindy Swanson ("Elizabeth" for all you FFF veterans) has posted a review of SECRET RADIO on her blog. Click Here to read it (and the discussion in the comments section that follow).

And Rebecca Anderson, a Christian writer who has turned out many a fine Doctor Who story (and once featured a character named for me who went around blowing things up, which is exactly what I would do if I were in a Doctor Who story) has written a review. Rebecca is currently working with an editor of a large publisher to bring her own book, Knife to publication, so I appreciate her review, and it has inspired a few comments. Click Here to read it.

BASSENCO's Bookstore is open for business!

I went right up to the last minute on resolving last minute glitches, but BASSENCO's Bookstore is open. If you're a fan of SECRET RADIO or a regular reader of this blog, you may find just what you're looking for at BASSENCO's Books. I've designed it specifically for people who are interested in understanding the culture of Fundamentalism, including those people who want to reform it and those who want to recover from abuses they have encountered in it. Please stop by, and you can sign up for the newsletter in the green box on the right panel of this blog.

BASSENCO's Bookstore carries books designed specifically for the Fundamentalist culture. These are published through CafePress. It also carries classic Christian literature that has benefited Christians through the decades (or even centuries). These are carried by Amazon.com, but you can order them through the BASSENCO's Bookstore site. I have selected them because they are pertinent to people who are or have been Christian Fundamentalists. No guilt, no shame, just help.
