An IFB Myth, well-answered from Scripture
Not all IFB preachers use the "Touch not the Lord's Annointed" refrain when it comes to rebuking sin among elders, deacons, evangelists, and preachers. But many do. If you're not familiair with this little refrain, it comes from I Samuel, chapters 24 and 26, where David has the opportunity to kill King Saul but refrains from doing so because Saul was annointed to be king in the will of God. Some preachers also pull out the story of Elisha and the mocking crowd of young men to support the idea that death comes to those who reproach God's Annointed (II Kings 2:23-24).

The idea that the preacher is annointed by God to a kingly or prophetic office is a dangerous one in view of Scripture, and it is an idea relied upon by corrupt, ignorant, and domineering preachers. Here is a good article that refutes the old "Touch Not the Lord's Annointed" slogan that has so often been used to hold corrupt men immune from church discipline. More Scandal from America's Number One Bible College
Well, if you go by what the following news article says, the administration of Hyles-Anderson college got a confession of burglary from three male students, sent the students out of state, then contacted the victims of the burglaries through their lawyer to make restitution, thus side-stepping the police. The victims were the ones who notified the police, and the police have discovered that the three suspects were out of state. The article follows:

Cops seek college help in solving crime
Former Hyles Anderson students are believed responsible for three burglaries
BY DEBORAH LAVERTY
Times Staff Writer

Hyles Anderson College officials may hold the key to solving three residential burglaries police believe were committed by three of the school's former students.

Merrillville police Operations Commander Mark Gregoline said Tuesday that police in Merrillville, Schererville and Lake County were tipped to the Hyles Anderson connection by the residents whose houses were burglarized in late January and early February.

He said investigators have learned the three men, all Hyles Anderson students at the time, met with college officials concerning the burglaries.

Mark Crockett, a Hyles Anderson College spokesman, referred calls to the office of Co-President Ray Young, who did not return a call for comment.

Gregoline said he understands all three students have left the school. Two have returned to homes in Ohio and West Virginia; the third has entered a church-sponsored rehabilitation center in Illinois.

No charges have been filed because police don't have all the particulars of the burglaries and have spoken to the college attorney, but not college officials, Gregoline said.

"We've never interviewed the young men," he said.

He said the attorney was the one who contacted the victims and told them the stolen items were located in a mobile home in Gary.

Gregoline said most of the stolen items, including electronics, jewelry and appliances, have been recovered.

But police from the three departments still need information from college officials to determine how they learned of the burglaries.

"We are waiting to get more information from the attorney and church officials. They've (been) given a time frame and not met it," Merrillville police Detective James Regan said.

Appliances and tools valued at $6,000 were taken during a Jan. 25 burglary at a recently built home in the 5700 block of Wild Rose Drive in Schererville.

The Merrillville burglary was reported Jan. 25 by residents in the 3800 block of West 89th Court. Electronics, jewelry and a firearm were stolen, and the homeowner, who is living in Florida and selling the house, was notified by a Realtor.

Electronic equipment valued at approximately $800 was taken during the third burglary in the 7000 block of West 87th Avenue.

The latest update is that two of the three have been arrested and either are or will be back in Indiana. The lawyer for the college cannot be reached for comment, which is a good thing for them.

This whole story broke in the middle ofo a ruckus over on the Hyles-Anderson Forum on the FFF. The usual legless lynch mob of Pastor Marty Braemer, a semi-troll named Melvin, and a few others had formed, and they were just deciding that a person as judgemental as I am cannot be saved (because I insist that Hyles Anderson/First Baptist of Hammond is a hotbed of corruption, gross ignorance, and sexual sin---and I keep documenting instances that prove it). Then all of a sudden this story of the burglaries came at them like a bat outta Hammond.

Well, what could they do? They'd been railing against me because I say the place is corrupt, and once again their dear old alma mater got caught in a cover up. So of course Melvin decided to accuse me of calling all IFB preachers child molesters. Regrettably (for Melvin), just three days ago when I posted my statement of allegations against the IFB movement, Melvin had agreed with my assessment of my beliefs (albeit ungraciously). Sort of hung himself on that one. I think he's off eating dinner now (possibly a generous serving of crow, followed by humble pie for dessert), or maybe he's gone to the library for a surgeon's manual on how to extricate his foot from his mouth.

Anyway, the inevitable news of the scandal brought defense from Pastor Marty Braemer who still holds the POV, as always, that there is no proof that the school/church did anything wrong. And Melvin's accusing me of accusing all IFB preachers of being child molesters. And not one of them has stopped to think of this awful visitation of God upon that place to reveal publically that it is corrupt. The vindication of the Lord's righteousness has not yet concerned them, though they are awfully concerned about the school/church's righteousness. But that's IFB-KJVO Fundamentalism for you. It is primarily concerned for itself.

This hilarious account from the blog of Snooze Button Dreams
"Lovely Wife and I went to relationship counseling once. Our 'facilitator' seemed likable enough and our session started out pretty well. At one point she said something along the lines of 'It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other.' She then asked me if I could name Lovely Wife's favorite flower.

I leaned over, feeling very confident, touched Lovely Wife's arm gently and whispered, 'Self-Rising, isn't it?'

The rest of the story is not pleasant."
