![]() | An IFB Myth, well-answered from Scripture
Not all IFB preachers use the "Touch not the Lord's Annointed" refrain when it comes to rebuking sin among elders, deacons, evangelists, and preachers. But many do. If you're not familiair with this little refrain, it comes from I Samuel, chapters 24 and 26, where David has the opportunity to kill King Saul but refrains from doing so because Saul was annointed to be king in the will of God. Some preachers also pull out the story of Elisha and the mocking crowd of young men to support the idea that death comes to those who reproach God's Annointed (II Kings 2:23-24). |
