![]() | Sore throat cure
I just read this in one of my juicing books. If you have a sore throat, juice some lemon (as you would squeeze orange juice; you don't need a vegetable juicer). Take 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice and add a pinch of salt to it. Take small mouthfuls and gargle for a long, long, time before spitting it out. (To get through all the lemon juice, I was advised that I should spend a total of three minutes gargling, taking breaks only to spit out the old and sip in the new.) I do this before bed to promote healing while I sleep. Another remedy I've invented is to take one of those ThermaCare disposable heat patches (the Neck to Arm size) and put it at the base of my throat, then wrap a scarf around my throat several times, loosely. |
